Ralf Clemens, MD PhD, graduated in medicine from the University of Mainz, Germany, and holds an executive degree in Management from the Wharton Business School, Philadelphia, US. During his almost 30 years in vaccine industry as Head Global Vaccines Development at GSK, Novartis and Takeda Vaccines and executive board positions he developed and brought to licensure over 25 different vaccines and executed various technology transfers to developing country manufacturers. He was chair of the Scientific Advisory Group and member of the Board of Trustees of IVI for 2 terms, member of the GHIT Selection Committee and of the CEPI Scientific Advisory Board. He is currently serving as senior advisor to Global Health at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (Seattle, US) and is member of the executive or scientific board of Arcturus Therapeutics, Inventprise, and ILiAD (all US) as well as of Valneva (France) and Clover Biopharmaceuticals (China). Ralf has more than 220 publications and given more than 250 scientific presentations mainly on public health, vaccines, immunization and pharmaceutical development.
